Experience A Teepee Raising on National Aboriginal Day

It takes a village to raise a teepee, and the Fort la Reine Museum invites you to come a be a part of the celebration. In partnership with the Portage Friendship Centre, the Fort la Reine Museum will raise it’s community Teepee in honour of National Aboriginal Day on the Afternoon of June 21, at 1PM. Join in the ceremony as we honour the four directions and invite the energy of all our relations to raise the teepee. Learn and sample some freshly made  Bannock, historically made by Indigenous North Americans, as we bake it over our firepit in the Fort, and discover this iconic flatbread of the prairies from 11 - 4pm
