Volunteering
Volunteering gives meaning and a sense of purpose, while helping worthy causes and non-profit organizations. We are always seeking volunteers at the Fort la Reine Museum to assist with programming, maintenance, and special events.
CASUAL VOLUNTEERING
Casual volunteers are those who wish to assist with short programs, events, or special projects for a limited time. In the past, we have had casual volunteers run certain craft stations during on-site festivals, assist with database entry, photography for special events, heritage building cleaning, etc. While at the Museum, casual volunteers may enjoy free refreshments from the office and free Museum admission on the day they are volunteering.
REGULAR VOLUNTEERING
Regular volunteers are those who contribute their time regularly to the Museum, and they usually follow a structured schedule when they are at the Museum. In the past, regular volunteers have been high-school students working on a specific project at the Museum to obtain school credit, are retired individuals who wish to garden at the Museum during the Spring/Summer months, act as costumed tour guides, etc. As a thank you for their regularly scheduled assistance, regular volunteers receive a free 1-year membership to the Museum, access to refreshments in the office when they volunteer, and discounts on special events.
Possible tasks
Volunteers may help with gardening, giving tours, helping with events and programs, light handy-work, etc!
